A different kind of Christmas list

First, I’d love to welcome you to my brand spanking new BLOG! Thank you for stopping by! I’d be thrilled to tell you I was sharing this from my new Dell desktop computer, BUT someone has informed me it is indeed a Christmas present, and therefore cannot and WILL NOT be used until Christmas. To that I say phooey! LOL Nonetheless, here we are! This post also serves as the first in my 15 days of Christmas Extravaganza! OK, it may not be an extravaganza, but that sure is a fun word to say. Say it with me. Ex-TRAAAAVA-GANZAAAAA! See? 🙂

I LOVE Christmas. I really, really do. My family can attest to this. My kids have counted, and commented on, the number of Santas we have in our home. I think it was 42 at the last count. hehe This year we also have 3 different villages. Hey! It’s not all my fault. Others buy these things, too. A lot of them come from yard sales. I mean, come on, I can’t turn down a good deal, can I?!

OK, to the point of this post….Christmas lists. Specifically lists of Christmas movies. Who else loves watching terrific holiday movies?!!  I love watching sappy Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones. I also love watching the classics we all grew up with, and many of the new favorites. I thought I’d share a few of the top Christmas movies you could be watching. This list is just the top 10 from Good Housekeeping’s 55 Best Christmas Movies of All Time.

  1. A Christmas Story
  2. Planes, Trains and Automobiles
  3. Love Actually
  4. A Charlie Brown Christmas
  5. Holiday Affair
  6. The Polar Express
  7. Four Christmases
  8. It’s a Wonderful Life
  9. Home Alone
  10. The Great Rupert

I have to admit, I’ve never watched a couple of those, and others I haven’t seen in years. I do love “The Polar Express!” When my two youngest children were in 2nd and 3rd grades, their classes were taken to the movie theater to see it. My son, at the time, looked a lot like the main little boy. That made me love the movie even more! “It’s a Wonderful Life” is another great movie with a good story. If you’d like to see the rest of Good Housekeeping magazine’s list, check it out here Good Housekeeping 55 Best Christmas Movies of All Time.

Now, I shamefully admit there are many popular Christmas favorites I have never watched. My admission to my friends that I have never watched “Elf” (though I quote parts of it often!) or “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” was met with shock and disbelief. I know, I know. What kind of true Christmas-loving person has never seen these movies? Maybe I’ll get around to it this year. I did just watch “White Christmas.” Such a beautiful movie! If you haven’t seen it, you should!

I’d love to hear what YOUR favorite holiday movies are.

If you plan on watching some of your holiday favorites, I’ve made up a fun little movie trivia quiz to share with you! You can find it here —> Holiday Movie Trivia

Thanks so much for checking out my blog!!

( I know the font on this post is wonky. If you have any ideas as to WHY, please share! LOL Thank you!)

I hope you’ll stop back by! In the meantime, remember to fill your life with love and laughter and find joy in the little things.
